Anti roll bar on CE 4" narrowed beam
Anti roll bar on CE 4" narrowed beam
by KDF » Mon May 27, 2019 6:06 pm
Hi all.
Recently fitted a CE 4 inch narrowed beam and I was wondering if anybody had managed to fit an anti roll bar to one??
CE say you don't need one and it would actually make it worse??? Having driven splities for years I would say it's a much needed part of the suspension set up?
Any thoughts, solutions or opinions are gratefully received.
Cheers
Rob

Yes, made + fitted them. Makes a big difference.
CE never acknowledge that their beam would benefit from one / the centre pivot mount is larger than stock so it can foul an ARB / they also use to say a steering damper wasn't needed until they put a bracket on the later version.

Thanks Jim. I thought there might be clearance issues under the two end towers/plates due to their large square design underneath fouling the bar?
I used to have 2" narrowed beam under her, so I'll just make one up to fit the new beam.
Cheers

That wasn't ever an issue, only the central boxing.

Eventually got mine fitted today by the local garage. Had spent ages under the bus on axle stands trying to do it myself and in the end admitted defeat, so got it installed whilst it was in for an MOT.
It’s on a Creative Weedeater 2 beam and is a stock ARB which has been narrowed and sleeved and uses the standard rubber bushes and clamps.
Pics to help those contemplating doing it....
Makes a massive difference - get it done ! (But get it on a lift/pit as DIY is a no no)
