Negative camber irs
Negative camber irs
by chrystal » Sun Jun 30, 2019 3:19 pm
I have negative camber on an irs bus. The clamps are Harry Harpic bolt ons. I Have read that the clamps can be undone and moved to rectify this.
Firstly, does the wheel and hub need to come off to be able to move the clamps?
Secondly, how much do imove them and in which direction?
Any hints welcome!

You'll need to loosen the bolts & rotate the clamps so that the arm moves upwards. You can tap them round with a decent copper mallet or use a jack/lump of metal under the arm where it's bolted into the clamp. How much is hard to say, how much camber have you got?!

I also have bolt on clamps, from another brand.
I had to turn them up quite a bid to get rid of the negative camber.
I even had to cut down my Y-heater pipes.
Wich was no probleme for me.
Henk!!!

Did you take the wheels and hubs etc off? Or just have a trolley jack on the arm, loosen the bolts and raise it slightly?

It often takes a few tweaks to get it level / correct camber as the springs settle after being adjusted, especially if they've been out of spec for a while
