Ribbed bumper overriders ? Do they exist ? Were they ever an original part or aftermarket part ?

I don't believe they were standard on the pre59 ribbed bumper busses, hence the aftermarket Hurst nudge bars etc. Then the later bumpers with overriders on US busses for their legislation requirements
But they seem to be on the busses out of Brazil so maybe VW Brazil standard.

That's kind of what I thought as I've been through loads of documents and nothing shows pre 59 busses with overriders and no aftermarket items for sale from what I've seen, I just wasn't sure if I was missing some special item on an early deluxe that I had missed.
The Brazil ones look really well made though.
