67 Headlight & wiper switches

67 Headlight & wiper switches

by John82 » Mon Apr 06, 2020 4:26 pm
Hello. I need wiper and headlight switches for my 67 kombi. Do I have to find 12V switches only for my 67 bus or are the same with the other 6V switches from earlier buses?

Thank You! I have to check first my wiper motor. If it has one speed will it work with 12V?

Need to check what the part number is and google to try to find if 6v or 12v one or two speed.
Some late splits were indeed 12v!

67 splits were almost all 12V. The switches are the same except, as Graham says, most 67s were fitted with two speed wiper switches. The knobs are different - flat rubber rather than plastic acorns. 6V switches work with 12v systems.

That part number is correct for the last wiper motor fitted up to July 67.
If you now check on the 67 wiring diagram the terminal numbers on the wiper should correspond to those on the diagram and requires a two speed wiper and requires a two speed switch. These are harder to find..vwed used to be an excellent source for wiper parts and switches and door locks!
If you look online there is an electronic copy of tge parts list and details of which parts are required can be found with part number related to ViN number.
