1600 ADR Engine Rebuild
1600 ADR Engine Rebuild
by Harry UK » Fri Sep 18, 2020 12:11 pm
My case has spacers for the bearing nearest flywheel, see photo (I have turned spacer for visibility).
The bearing is snug on one half of the case but loose on the other, I haven’t tried with the case together but will try when new set arrives.
Is it normal to have a spacer and can replacements be purchased if bearing is loose?
Measurements:
Crank = standard
case = 0.5 mm

Do you mean that was under the bearing?
If so, someone has bodged it in the past. Should never have spacers / shims under the bearing

Thanks for confirming Jim, as I suspected it’s not standard.
I’ll continue with rebuild and use it as experience as looks like a new case required soon.

The case for the main bearing without shim is 67.5mm, I can only find 2mm oversize case for sale?
