Straight axle advice please

I am about to straight axle my bus using the gearbox that is on there now, can I do the conversion without removing the engine and box. I know I need to reverse the ring gear, can this be done in the bus.

You'll need to reverse the ring gear, and I'v try'd to replace a axle with the gearbox still in the van not goood.

It's really not worth trying to do all that work with everything in place. It doesn't take long to take an engine and gearbox out
