Repairing Rust Spots

Repairing Rust Spots

by sidewinder » Mon Feb 22, 2010 12:49 pm
OK, so I have a couple of rust spots that i need to repair.

If i wire wheel them back down to shiny metal, is there any particular 'rust treatment' / inhibitor / killer that i should apply before filling the pit marks and then priming/painting?

Advice from all you bodywork gurus appreciated.

There are various rust treatment products available. I use a product called Vactan. search ebay for it, works very well.

If you have a compressor, get yourself a spot blasting gun. This will be far better than the wire wheel.

Bilt Hamber stuff is the dogs clangers  I have used the Dynax S50 and it's much better than other brand's out there! I have used others before and would never use anything other than Dynax. Friends have used the Detox c and Hydrate 80 with great results :D

Have a look here

Yeah! I've just bought a load of it.
Thats the trouble having a big engine, I tend to drive so fast that the bodywork paint peels off and the rust gets in :D
