Is my hockey stick bent?
if so a quick heat and bend should sort it out ok? or is that not a good idea?

Yes the bus hockey stick (top) has an additional bend compared to a beetle one (bottom)

I can install a bus one in a bug irs box though cant I?
As my bus had a front end crash, I think the 90deg bend is now more like 105degree. Should it be 90, or less?

Most people use the Split Hockey Stick and Nosecone.
I used the Beetle Hockey Stick that came with the IRS box.
I'm told that some people have trouble selecting reverse when using the Beetle HS. I guess I was just lucky.
Make sure you select neutral before fitting up your IRS box /NC / HS
