hi all,


im a bit thick with things not to do with bodywork lol,

can i just ask,

my new 67 bus has the dual brakes from factory but am i right in thinking that a replacement master cylinder is not available so im to basicly just go ahead with the conversion as if it was a single system?


if so,

is my brake pot any use to the conversion or do i need to start from scratch?

Last year i converted the panel to dual circuit pretty straight forward as i bought one of the CSP bundle kits off machine7 .....So i need to start sorting the brakes out for my other bus thats getting the motor in... Its currently running a single circuit set up....I purchased a reservoir seperately(iys a volvo one) the centres of the holes in it are 85mm apart will this dual circuit master cylinder work??? http://www.coolairvw.co.uk/Item/Shop_by ... i know im gonna need a spacer to fit to the front of the master cylinder
im planning on fitting a servo to see how this improves the braking and then possibly later front disc's

Be careful as some volvo reservoirs do have 85mm spouts apart but are larger in diameter and will not be able to fit into the (bay) master cylinder

Hi, to anyone that has ditched their single circuit reservoir, I am desperate for an original reservoir filler cap for my single circuit reservoir. Early metal type reservoir (Nov 1959 Kombi).

Does anyone have a metal reservoir kicking around which they can knick the filler cap from?

I recently bought a '64 bus with front discs. The brakes are rubbish, comparable to my first mini years ago that was drums all round. I just had a look underneath and found its on single circuit. In converting to dual circuit, can I expect much performance increase?

Are you sure it single circuit ?
You won't see any improvement in braking from single to dual but you will if you add a servo

Disk brakes should NOT be used with OG single circuit m/c so you NEED to change that asap.

Hi all, could somebody direct me via a link to which MC i need to go with the csp dics i bought, i already have the round alli spacer and reservoir from csp too so i just need the MC. my bus is RHD if that makes any difference.

Reading this thread with great interest.

I've already fitted a dual m/c to my 65 RHD and would like to upgrade to front discs + servo.

Can anyone recommend someone who does it all including fitting? I fancy treating myself and getting someone else to do it.

I'm in The Northwest but don't mind travelling and making a holiday of it if there's someone with a good reputation (and hopefully not too expensive).
