Not at all loud ,my first one was always setting off car alarms but they must have improved the silencer as this one is much quieter, you do get a bit of resonating if you lower the bus really low but at my hight at the moment it's fine and any higher I wouldn't even class it as loud ,sound great from the back no matter what hight your at

That is the great things about this forum...
Horses for courses..
I am sure markp will not mind..
Hi mark.....posting your pictures...Love and kisses "The Riddler"
This is what inspred me...
I'm old and like to keep it stock...so side exit standard ride height it works..
Body of the zorst sits under the valence...on this the exhaust pipe exits to the side...
on the tuck away it is virtually under the bumper

That looks good. I've just had a flick though everyone's build threads. It looks very easy to fit to if I keep the heat exchangers.
Thanks

I'm considering the VWSpeedshop and Vintage speed options with my 1776 IRS set up - which flows better and will therefore give me more ponies or are they much of a muchness?
I was also wondering about access to adjust the valves when using a VWSpeedshop exhaust - is that a problem?
Cheers,
Dave

Well after looking into them both, GAC Racing who built my engine said that if I was to go for vintage speed then get the 150hp version for better flow (only available through vintage speed speed website not heritage) but he 'thought' the vwspeedshop one would be better still for flow. The only real way to know would be to buy both and rolling road them to see, which obviously I'm not going to do. I don't think there's much between them for a 1776 if you go for the 150 hour version.
As for access, at least the speed shop one has a horizontal muffler so you can squeeze in, but still easier to take the wheel off.
My bugpack exhaust is annoying.
Also to watch out for is that if you go vintage speed extreme lowered where the tail pipe sits together with the exhaust box, you'll have big trouble fitting a tow bar (esp autocraft one) no problems if you get the one where the tail pipe exits to the side.
I'm still undecided but leaning towards vintage speed.
I'd like to hear the speed shop one running and have a look at Volksworld at how much the vintage speed -heat exchanger one tucks up behind the bumper.

Thanks Steve,
I don't think I'll be anywhere near 150bhp - I am expecting more like 70bhp but will bear that in mind. I am hoping to fit a Westfalia tow bar and am not going to be very low at all - mostly stock height.
I am currently leaning towards the Vintage Speed myself as it looks more stock - I think either would be superb really....
Decisions, decisions
I'd really love a CSP Python but don't have the funds...
Cheers,
Dave

I love the look of the Python, but way out of my budget.

The only comment I can make is people are selling speedshop systems that are over 10 years old and they are still fetching decent money. Only time will tell with the others

I'm really really tempted by the side exit speedshop for heat exchangers, but still worried its going to be too loud, and not wife\family friendly.... anyone put my mind at rest?
I don't like hearing the stories of it settings off car alarms as you go past!! hahahaha
Would I really notice the difference in noise from the cab? - currently going from stock exhaust, so imagine its going to be a bit different!
This is to run with my new twin kad's
p.s apparently the CSP Python is REALLY loud

I run a VWspeedshop exhaust.. (2054 cc, dual 44's)
I've had a A1 previously which performed better on the dyno as a CSP street comp. The A1 eventually went as I didn't liked it and needed replacing (scraping) but found it too expensive.
The street comp really was my favorite as it looked great (dual exhaust) it sounded real nice (not too loud) but most of all the sound was hardly noticeable inside!!
(sorry couldn't find a decent pic)
Eventually I went for the Speedshop exhaust, purely because it's very good value for money and had good clearance (I only scraped the exhaust tip in the beginning ).
In terms of noise.. well it is loud.. actually it is very loud. People that know say they recognize me miles away.. That said I probably travel more Miles than most people on this forum and the majority of them are with the family (2 kids). You get used to the sound but forget having a conversation whilst driving
(sorry couldn't find a better pic)
It's a good buy but if you're looking for a quiet exhaust this will disappoint you.
