Can't get near mine as it's tucked up for winter but here's a couple of photos from a google search.

I have a deep sump on my bus, so I drilled and tapped it at the front, no issue with maintenance or cabling problems

Neat solution redstar5, unfortunately my engine doesn't have the blanking plate

PM me if you want one, I'll just need to cover the postage and packing cost
Cheers

I know it's a few years ago but do you by any chance have any of these plates still available, thanks.

I have a thermocouple attached to my dipstick which then goes into sump. Can’t think of a better way to do it.

Involved a bit of drilling dremelling on the dipstick but works really well.

I’m using one of the dual aircraft certified gauges that VWJim sells http://www.vwjim.co.uk/ourshop/prod_123 ... Gauge.html

What make are they? Can’t see a makers name or brand.

Westach - got a spare dual oil pressure/temp gauge knocking around somewhere in the workshop. Will need a thermocouple which is available from Jim or Westach, but if you want it PM me and we can work something out.

Cheers
