You too Si
You wont just need a steering rack with power assistance ... I think you'll need active yaw control too for the side winds!

Creative. I wouldn't read too much into this though. My idler back boring experiment may have gone wrong...?

I took the steering idler arm off and had the hole for the steering rod end (off the creative rack) bored parallel with a stepped end and then fitted an insert with the taper the other way up so that the Creative steering rod sits perfectly flat rather than at an awkward angle (the taper in my BJ beams idler didn't match the 7deg taper of the rod end either). The only thing I noticed though on reassembly is that the taper is a midgers too large so the steering rod end goes in a little too far and the rubber boot presses on the idler.
I've just had another look at it though and I dont think its the cause of the problem though.
I'm going to fit a Bug Box rack next time...

Got any details of the BugBox kit?
I've a CE RHD version in a box still, but also got some other bits and bobs coming together after driving a bus with a home-made package and it was awesome. Light steering when going slowly, self centred properly etc. etc.

Now that looks like a proper bit of kit
Awsome looking setup. About in keeping with the rest of the van by the look of it. Lovely
