Go for the whiter one!dave409787 wrote:I've just been to my local paint shop who can only match by eye, they have a vw swatch book and I've matched my ral colours to the vw l82 swatch because it seemed very grey. The closest ral, which was very close was RAL 9018, however various people on the samba etc say the most similar is traffic white (9016) which is far whiter than 9018. This is becoming a pain and I need to paint Friday. I'm painting everything anyway, so no blending required, it would be a keen eye to pick it, but can anyone confirm if I should be looking at 9016 or 9018. Ie is it pretty white, or surprisingly grey in the tin. Thanks
Gill.

Hi all.
My local paint supplier doesn't show a listing to mix L82 Silver White. Can anyone help with a modern paint code? Or quants to mix?
Thanks
Rich

I had a bumper scanned, it came back with a 96% match.
If I think on I'll send you a picture of the tin with the mix label as I am going for another litre this weekend. I think they used Lechler paint, but like I say, it was a custom mix as their first attempt using the Mipa guide came out like peppermint!
Gill.

Lechler is what they use, so it would be great if you can get a pic of the mix label!
Thanks for the link Steve.

Bit of a Hijack, but when I did my Bumpers and front badge I got some Rattle Cans from Wolfsburg West, seemed to be a good match to the original colour. Not sure if any of the UK suppliers bring their stuff in though?. as this was a fair few years ago.
But I have a stone chip now on the front badge, probably down to my painting skills...
so was looking for a small amount of paint I was wondering if anyone had tried these people on Ebay.... eBay item number:270593981087 . as I think it may be worth a punt rather than taking the badge off and re painting all of it (its not like the rest of the van is that shiny)...
