mines a lhd van but ive taken the servo off the left side off the beam and will be refitting it to the right hand side of the beam (as per rhd van) with a remote linkage arangement to opperate so the steering shaft can run straighter

how have you got on with the lhd rack install, dont forget lots of pics and dont forget to take measurements
i think im going to do this on mine when the time comes, lloks to be a proper conversion which takes out all of the sloppy parts unlike the creative conversion which leaves most original parts in place and effectively only replaces the drag link and centre pivot.
anyways keep up the good work and look forward to seeing the pics
cheers chaps

Keeping the centre pin does have some advantages. ie the steering geometry from centre pin to wheels is retained. So if all the parts are new from pin to wheels, then there's nothing wrong with that design. Though going either route should give good responsive steering if built well. £500 all in for a steering upgrade isn't a bad price compared to the cost of the parts for a steering box rebuild.

keeping original steering geometry is all well and good but as soon as you lower it, reverse balljoints, fit drop spindles & narrow the beam its all wrong anyway

It took 5 days of 9 till 4 still having brews and lunch . We could of done it faster but we triple checked everything and didnt rush. We just had the van on axle stands on the drive so if you have better conditions sure that would help.

mine took 3x full days and i had everything needed and van was on its side in garage but i had to move servo and make a brake linkage to relocate servo to opposite side of van, but as said no point rushing when your at home and i triple checked everything because something little with steering at 70mph can soon become something very big!!!

Its realy worth it . Big thanks to althesparky dont start any more threads dude
The only thing is it needs a bit more castor to help with the self centering but on the way up the motorway we started getting picky comparing it to our corrado so it must be a hit!
Hoping for some sun to enjoy the tired free driving or we're off to sunnier climates

That's madness! I'm really interested in how these busses drive! I've pretty much convinced myself that I want to do this, but I'd love to try out the PAS and non PAS options to see which i prefer.
Nice work everyone, btw.
