European or U.S. vehicle?
My 55 being from Portugal has euro spec rear lights, 55-57...
U.S. had barndoor bubble lights.

55-57 US taillights were similar to barndoor, but slightly different.
They were dual filament, not single filament
They had 'Hella' and 'SBL17' on the lense, not just 'Hellla'
