Fitting NOS Steering Lock

Fitting NOS Steering Lock

by lowbug » Mon Dec 29, 2014 11:38 am
Hi,

Is there any holes to be made to fit the Niemen Steering lock? I have a NOS lock for my 67 but I guess the pin needs to pass through to lock into the column? Is the shaft inside any different?

|Thanks :)

Your 1967 may even have the hole and lugs...
Rusting Hulk refurbished my steering column and box and fitted a modern Mexican version for me.
Excellent job Simon!
He is refurbishing my 1962 column and steering box and fitting a WASO period correct steering colunn lock for me...
When I give him the depth from the top of the column tube...oops
The WASO one has hole position and lug welding instructions but was a generic aftermarket lock...just happens to be to right ID to fit column OD...
Want it to sit tight up against the column isolation mounting..
Got to measure down from column outer tube top to top face of column bracket and then add on thickness of the bracket and 20 mm.

My NOS one has fitting instructions about the hole that needs cutting and the wedges that need brazing on.
