clutches and thrust bearings

by maddison » Mon Mar 16, 2015 11:54 am
I've just put the stock reduction box gearbox in my bus
it was previously straight axled with a 'late' style thrust bearing

the stock box has an 'early' style thrust bearing and what ~i consider a late style clutch (i.e, not the clutch with 3 arms…but lots of smaller prongs

the clutch works…but I really need to wind the cable all the way down, so the lever on the gearbox is pulling all the time…and nearly reaching the end of its travel before the thrust bearing engages the clutch

have I done something wrong, do these 2 styles work together ??

Hi

I am pretty sure your using a non padded Clutch with a padded Realease bearing they shouldn't really go together.

You will need:

Hope this helps :D
