Stop and Pop

Stop and Pop

by NikC » Fri Jul 03, 2015 6:13 pm
Evening.

So post my recent tune up and new exhaust fitting I've developed another problem ...

Basically after driving the bus for a while and then stop and kill the engine, after a second or two I get a loud pop .... nearly killed and old dear earlier who stopped to let me park and then walk passed the back of the bus when it did it !

Any ideas what could be causing this ? and more so .... should I be worried !

Thanks

Nik

Nik

It's what Ted said I think, sounds like over fuelling.

Let it tick over for a short time before killing it and it shouldn't backfire until you get it checked.

done a couple of hundred miles this weekend, and the engine sound to me has changed a little ... i think there is a bit of a pop going on all the time when idle.

Here's a video .... have i just got paranoid or ?

Check the exhaust studs, mine sounds like that until I re-tighten the exhaust.

Excellent, I like an easy fix. Have bought brass nuts to go on mine to hopefully stop them coming loose, not had time to fit yet.

I don't use stainless nuts on headers anymore for that reason....sods for coming undone. Good ol brass nuts seem to stay done up.
