theyre ok, I'm no audiophile so sounded not too bad to me. I had this surround.

If you keep an eye out on eBay.de you can sometimes grab these at a fair price or similar for earlier vans, or try Rich Oakley

May not sound as good but if you can get one with a DIN connection so you can add an iPhone

These have been discussed several times, have a look using the search function and you'll find them.

I just got an original FM 12v blaupunkt from rich oakley

it only runs a mono speaker….radio sounds really good, especially as my single speaker is right next to my head , in the top air box
it has an iPod connection….ipod sounds AMAZING….as good as any 'modern' stereo i have ever had in the bus

original blaupunkt…and ashtray dock for iPod, cost less than a 'retro' sound

just my 2 pennith

Yep, and won't drain as much power when turned "off".

yep, turns off with a satisfying clunk of a knob…..and without the need of a kill switch to ensure you don't come back 3 weeks later to a flat battery ;-)

best thing i have treat the bus too in a long time

I have one in my DC with a chrome front and ivory buttons to match the dash - looks great and fitted really easily.
IIRC I bought it new from busfest a few years ago - can't remember who sells them now but they're always in one of the sheds near the SSVC field.
Anyway, works fine. I especially like the Bluetooth bit on it too.
Only thing missing IMHO is a DAB element but you can get AUX input DAB units separately from a range of suppliers.
Anyway, looks good, sounds good. What's not to like?
Wasn't cheap though but certainly looks retro enough (pun intended)
Hope that helps ya

Which one Dave, there seem to be a few options ?
Does it fit flush with the dash ?

My personal opinion is that they look dreadful, sound ok-ish and are not a patch on an original Blaupunkt radio made 40+ years ago. Just my opinion.
