Hi
Should there be a boot over the throttle cable between the end of the long conduit and where it goes through the fan housing?
I can only see one for a later bus on AHS etc.
Perhaps a later one fits?

No boot originally, but best to put one on as the cable rubs against the gearbox. Will have a search as I bought one as advised by VWJim, but can't remember which one it was, possibly a beetle one?

I slipped a length of small bore nylon airhose tubing over mine to stop the gearbox rubbing - off ebay & about £1 !
and it does rub... my gearbox had several cuts in the side of it about 5mm deep... which really doesn't do the cable any favours at all!

Does the cable not just rub through the boot then? It sounds like it would if it eats into the gearbox.
Sounds like it needs a roller gadget?

Yeah there was a post on the midlands split screen owners Facebook page with some pics of a buttys bits cable roller that bolts to the gearbox to keep the cable threaded away from the ribs on the gearbox.
