Replacing king and link pin seals

Replacing king and link pin seals

by JonnyCJ » Sat Jul 15, 2017 6:45 pm
Not tackled this job before but noticed a couple of seals are looking a bit worse for wear. Are they easy to replace?

Fancy doing them all for peace of mind.

Cheers

They can be easy. The hard part is taking the king pins apart. you need a heavy duty puller. which if I am right needs to be capable of exerting something like 40 tons of force to part them. putting them back together is easy.

Is it just a case of taking everything off, stripping it down and reassembling in reverse order with new seals ?

Anything to take into account?

Assuming everything is ok with no worn king pins or thrust washers. yes just strip down and rebuild with new seals
