RHD headlight glass

RHD headlight glass

by W-W » Tue Aug 08, 2017 11:03 am
Does anyone have a picture of an offside RHD headlight glass.

I bought a pair of lenses last year as the bus came with lefties with tape over them.

Wasn't picked up last year's MOT but at a new garage the offside one kicks up on the right, just like a LHD glass.

The question is, was I sold a pup! By a well known online retailer, trouble is, as it's over a year it looks like I'll have to buy another.

But I want to make sure the glass is wrong first.

And then why didn't you google "Hella 7034" which would have led you to this?:

Thanks hadn't seen that, I searched for
Splitscreen RHD headlight Hella 7034
But was given a couple of Ssvc links, broken pictures and dealers pages.

Looks like at least I have the correct glass, I checked if the bulb was square and it wasn't seated properly.

The pattern is counter intuitive as the RHD off side glass has a triangle pattern that would appear to give a kick up. It just doesn't do that.

Optics eh! I'll stick to the bar type :)

Glad it's helpful. Gradually adding to the pages when I have the time.

That makes sense as to why they are different from the pictures on Jim's site.
Although I bought them as just replacement lenses.

Why does the offside have an arrows pointing in both directions.

This is the side the MOT chap didn't like.

I like learning things.

To comply with UK & other rules.....

UK arrows point to the kerb. I've never worked out what the other arrow is for.
