67 Dashboard layout hazard switch or warp drive button?

67 Dashboard layout hazard switch or warp drive button?

by mellink » Sat May 05, 2018 5:12 pm
Good afternoon all,

Hope everyone is out and about in the lovely weather.

So I haven't got any van nearby to reference and I can't see on the wiring diagram what this hole is for in the dash.

Working left to right.

A warning light? Wipers, Light switch, mysterious hole (hazard switch? Which I don't see a part number for)

So it's not original... Maybe previous owner put in a hazard?

I think they were standard in USA long before they were here, that may explain it.

I have a RHD UK bus - but they are generally all the same - under fuel gauge is Lights, then speedo pod, then Wipers and that's it! - both switches are equidistant from the pod.

USA buses did have Hazards which is your second hole next to the wiper switch - no UK bus ever had hazards, but USA certainly did in the later years.
Some also had a big red light separate to the hazard switch, which maybe the higher hole.

Your attached pic is tiny so can't see any better - sorry!

I know we've been here before, but my 67RHD, built December 66, has hazards as standard

Interesting - I didn't think any UK bus had them - Was it a UK supplied bus? Do you also have factory dual circuit brakes?
I have Oct 66 built 67 bus and it doesn't have Hazards and has single circuit.
