1500 Bus Engine Oil Cooler Seals

by 81dubber » Sat Jan 12, 2019 4:39 pm
Hi all

Currently replacing Oil Cooler Seals on a Standard Non Dog House Oil Cooler.Engine is a 1500 Bus Engine,Engine No H 5135045.Some Confusion over type of Seal to fit.Do I need the Tubular Rubber Seals or the Stepped Type?.The ones that came off the Engine are the Stepped type. The Ones in the Gasket Kit I ordered are the Tubular Rubber Ones.Could anyone tell why they are different, as I only want to do this job once!.

Thanks in advance

The video has cleared things up.I’ve got the Original Style Cooler,so the Tubular Rubber Seals should be fine.

Thanks

Hope this is of some use, last year my bus had a large leak ( the oil cooler seals had been siliconed !! ) Garage replaced and all ok for a week then it started again, took it back and turns out my cooler and engine block are different , one early the other later so needed the stepped ones. The difference is small and was overlooked the first time round, all ok now.
