Front hub nuts (Locking)

Front hub nuts (Locking)

As requested here are some photos of the hub nuts
Genuine on the left (from Coolair That's the price of a pair BTW)
Repro on the right from Wolfsburg Resto's
The repro ones do look to have a flat recess and it doesn't look like it will bind on the side. However, at almost twice the price of the genuine ones they are going back!

Thanks
Exactly why I asked for pictures!
The OG look so much beefier!

Those repro's look like copies of a Porsche locking nut.

The copies I've seen are more like Bay nuts, and don't look half as good as either of those!

Indeed, as they don't look bad at all.

I was thinking they looked a bit crap!
They have a moulding flash all the way around, so you can't get a spanner on it properly, and I'd want a flat machined face to go on the washers as per the OG nuts - as it looks like it has a moulded thin lip, non machined face which goes to the bearing!

Jim - the ones you've seen must be horrific!

The lip is outwards, away from the bearing. Though on those the "L" might be the highest point.

You didn't put that hub on a bus did you Nige? I would have kept it on the table as a piece of art ;)
