ealy vs late spindles question

ealy vs late spindles question

by dickyboy63 » Sat Feb 16, 2008 2:43 pm
am in the process of fitting a 4" narrowed beam to my 63 split. i also have dropped spindles but there is a difference between them. as my bus is a 63 i know its a pain in the arse with parts being different.

this is the spindle on my bus

which i take it is 63 onwards making it a late

and the dropped spindle is this one
Image
making it an early.

am i right in saying this?

as all my brake components are lates im assuming they will definately not fit the early spindle.

Still make sure you get the right ones to fit your beam, you may have early link pins.
Jim am i right in saying there are two types of spindle for 63? what i would call normal 'earlies' and the other being late spindles with 24mm kingpins that use the early link pin size.

Yep, I've come across them a few times. A real pain when you try and match parts.
