Fitting Belts For Baby Seats HELP

by Graham 61 Bus » Fri Jun 27, 2008 7:56 pm
Need a bit of nelp on what seat belts to buy and fit for my baby seat

I have had a look on all the seat manufactuers web sites, and they all you cant use lap belts.

Does anyone know the best belts to buy and the best way to fit them. This is for a 65 LHD 11 window

Cheers

you have to have 3 point belts fitted. they no longer make a child's seat that is compatible with 3 points.

At the end of the day, it's worth doing to keep the little ones safe!!!

You DEFINATELY CAN get child seats that are recommended for lap belts. I have one and the instruction book has sepereate fitting instructions for 3 point and lap only fittings. It's a Brittax, but can't remember the model!

Quick google....

Brittax models that can be fitted using lap belts

Britax Freeway (Fisher Price forward facing seat)
Britax Eclipse (including Si & Ultra models)
Britax Renaissance (including Si models)

I have the renaissance, which is a very good seat, with a tensioner device that makes sure it's fitted tightly.

Taken from the Eclipse instructions on the Britax website

Totally agree, 3 pointers have got to be better in the long run

By the way, the lap fitting ones are still made so they can be used on aircraft.
