hi all
was hoping my 1st post as a splitty owner would be a "check it out" type but no its a "help and advise please "
some chump took a gamble and bought a van with a vinyl wrap from the US
:clown:
good news-top half is a good respray / or original so is stickin to the van
down below the top coat is so thin its peeling off in bits with the wrap
,leaving solid primer
whats best to do ,strip it all back to primer?,how?
or any guesses as to a rough price for a lower half respray
any help and advice is needed and wanted
thanks

Hey Bradders, sorry to hear about your purchase :blackeye:

Do you like the idea of a vinyl wrap? If so and it was me i'd consider getting this done again. I'd say you was talking £500 to £1000! I am basing this on when I considered getting my Merc Vito done for my Detailing business and this design I did was going to cost £1100 by Signs Express

A good lower half only respray will probably cost approimately £2000 to £2500 depending on who and where

It`s all completely down to what prep/bodywork is required. This will vary the cost dramatically! If there is no bodywork required and it`s simply a case of etch sanding and respray of lower half topcoat then I would have estimated around the £500 approx mark which should be inclusive of prep materials/paint and labour etc.

If there`s any bodywork/straightening/flatting etc etc to do, you could quite easily add up to £1000 onto that quote...

thank you for the help and advice so far
rewrapping vs repainting?
oh, the agony of choice!
p.s mr visa has limited that choice to £1000 ,take it or leave it smithers
hope this dosen't make any sense
love to all

simply re wrap it yourself in a solid colour
-the 'logs' of gear come 4 feet wide by 50 metres 2440mm by 50m
black or white gloss is 120 a stick
colours are 160
plus vat and deriverley

ot if your going up to the belt line, the van isn't 3m long -say 2 for the rer is 2 times 5 = 10m
-sell the rest on ebay
-see, you may facker it up 5 times, so you have loads
-also you can wrap around the doors and go into the rebates as you are not following an image
--get a felt squidger a scalpel and a pack of 10 a blades
-take the old off with more heat
-it you have scabs paint with high build primer, them flat off with 600 -wet

do not use isoprpyl alcohol on high build primer as it stays in it and messes the bond

should cost you no more than a bullseye
