sand blasting how much?

sand blasting how much?

by coleman keith » Thu Jan 20, 2005 9:43 pm
I am about to start looking for someone to sand blast the van back to bare metal. How much have you see it cost to blast a complete van inside and out?
I just need a bench mark to set my haggeling skils to

my crewcab cost me £300 to be blasted, though he wouldn't blast the roof. The price included a light etch primer to the shell.

the problem with full sandblasting inside and out is that you need to fully strip it (windows, engine, electrice, locks, handles) before you take it there. so you need to trailer it back and forth. this can add heavily to the costs.

Cost me £300 down south. I found a few places in the midlands / north that would do it for a £100, but the transport didn't make it worthwhile.

is this the best way to go as far as respraying is concerned cos my mate spent weeks sanding his split with a sander to bare metal if so 300 quid seems well worth it to get a better result

I don't know how much ..but i do know someone in kingston seymore near yatton that has the equipment to do it .he'll give you a quote first ...........also beware, if the shot blasters pressure is too high ,they can completely trash the job...my mate regularly gets lambretta panels shot blasted and they sometimes come back completey caved in ,this guy was recommended to me because of his carefulness, also as soon as metal is shotblasted it needs to be painted with somthing as it goes rusty from touch or damp in the air..........give us a bell if you want his number
