13 window deluxe

Right after 2 years of being without a splitscreen bus and importing a variety of earlybays and my 59' lowlight ghia I have come to the conclusion that I need a splitscreen in my life again
I thought about buying back my first splitscreen panelvan that I imported from florida in 2009 as its just come up for sale
http://www.pre67vw.com/classifieds/detail.aspx?id=4311
But that would be silly as iv already been there and someone else has put their mark on it now so ..........
Iv bagged myself a 1965 13 Window Deluxe in California which will be getting some TLC and a good freshen up once it gets here in a couple of months time,
How its looking at the moment
Engine hasnt run for 10 years but im sure a quick swap with my 2110cc twin 44 motor and rebuilt swing axle gearbox will do the trick, Looking forward to getting into it, need to do a few rust repairs but nothing worse than iv tackled before, iv got a rundown of what the seller says it needs but il see the real extent once it arrives
Updates to come in a couple of months but im very excited to be a split owner once again

Im planning on fitting a red9 wishbone front end, not decided on straight axle or IRS rear yet though.
Probably paint it in the OG colours
Camping interior,
Gas Burners,
I will get it done before next season so its ready for hopefully a better summer than were having this year, then il
ENJOY!

An update!!
Got the bus over to my workshop today and had a good sift through everything inside, it's not too bad, I'm looking at inner and outer sills both sides, full cab floor and not much cargo floor, it needs a nose job but it came with a load of panels to get me started!
Il need to sort the cab steps and bottom of doglegs too,
Iv started stripping it with the intention of having it soda blasted, the popouts were a nightmare to get out, most of the screws had to be drilled out,
Some pics of todays progress
They love filler in the states!
Few panels arrived with the bus

Hi it's not been finally decided as to what it's going to be like yet but all I do know is that it's going to be painted, shiny or not shiny is the question though!

Right out with the cutter again today!!
New wall hangar!
Outer sill snapped off in my hand too
Easy access!
Bit of blow torch action to get the door bolts out!
More cleaning up required tomorrow, then it's new cab steps, new cab floor and all the new front panels going on before I move onto the sills

Cheers Nick
I'm hoping to get it done pretty sharpish but without cutting any corners, I want to be using it by march/April time next year so plenty of time yet

Starting to remove lower front
Sorting front lower and leaving cab steps in to brace A posts
Need to transfer headlight bowls into new front clip too
