1960 SO23 Resto
by NUGGET » Tue Sep 24, 2013 5:43 pm
Spotted this on eBay having just sold my SO42, couldn't resist
Back from London with the bus to South Yorkshire
Chuffed with the bus, seems solid. Interior in fair condition. Having found the OG tent under the seat couldn't wait to put it up to see if all was complete!!!
Loads more pics to come having probs loading

Decided the old girl deserves a nice paint job after having a crap respray in the states and a couple of bad sill repairs.
Here we go again, full resto, must be mad !!

Was originally BG over SWR, the early bus dash was painted the same as the bottom half, on my 62 the dash is the same as the top half (beige grey) Both same colour bus's !!

Nice!
Shame I just sold all my spare Westy SO23 stuff - I had a couple of nice bits that could have probably helped you there.
The tent is a nice bonus!
Gill.

On with the blast, the wife will love this when she gets home !
Nothing like coming back to a sand pit
Found the little capsule in the sand, blasted it out of the bus with loads of other bits and bobs,it was sealed up with some kind of paint, cracked it open to find a lock of hair and what looked like someone's ashes and a note with dates and numbers ???

A few pics I missed
The garage is like a Pigs nest
Rear corners are great condition apart from the reversing lights cut in !
The guy who owned the bus had welded the Westy rack to the gutters so had to be cut off, also engraved all the fittings on the bus including the ice pick handles, headlights etc.
