Exciting stage to be at, and lots of quality work to get this far.hebbrkd wrote:Looking for opinions please, the bus came originally with two rear side pop outs and four fixed side windows! My initial thoughts were to keep as was as final build will be almost standard,
but am now thinking all pop outs, will be having have front and rear safaris. I've asked my eldest 12 year old and he says all openers which I'm now leaning towards, any opinions much appreciated............
I had the same dilemma and went with all pop outs. Other than taking longer to build up I think it’ll look good and I did use the front ones a lot before rebuild because you can reach them from the front while driving along.
Mine will also be all standard 1962 Devon apart from the windows and the ride height. Sort of.

Great progress, love it when they actually start to become whole once more.hebbrkd wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 11:52 pm Looking for opinions please, the bus came originally with two rear side pop outs and four fixed side windows! I'd love to have all openers on my Devon, when you are parked up with a brew on it would be great to chose which windows you want opened.

Thanks Clymoj and Bathtub57 I've decided to go with them now. May seem a bit trivial decision but my aim is a mainly standard bus with just a few deviations.

After a long delay we finally have the missing panel, so now the new genuine fuel tank panel is getting a light blast and will be installed on the bus.
Another issue we found was that the cargo door gutter area had bent, in several areas due to rot.
Now we have removed the gutter and started to replace the full length with new, then we can finish the roof and well it’ll be paint prep time.

Roof is now fully installed with all the gutters being redone.
Owner has opted for full popouts and safari’s front and rear so these are on their way from Schofields (painted units not stainless) some minor areas to finish off, then we are detailing the chassis ready for paint (guess the colour)!
