Thanks, I'm not sure. It was very manufactured very close to the changeover date, so I suppose it could be. That would be cool :)

Hei VW Dave had a look at some of my old data......

From my reckoning in any normal month (in this year at least) VW would have produced no more than 600 deluxes by this time.

Obviously it was quite a change in production, so this early in the run its hard to know if they where pushing out deluxes in double time or barely started!

There is a strong argument to say more deluxes survuved than anything else (commercials being literally run into the ground!)

That said if 2-3% survived that leaves 10 worldwide this old. Its all guess work, but food for thought. You might conceivably have the oldest survivor. That number of 600 would also include Sambas. Unfortunately I dont know the ratio of Samba's to standard deluxes sold. I would like to know if anyone else does.? Somewhere i have a record of the earliest known 21 window, I just cant put my hands on it!!!

Keep up the great work, love it!

Jim

Are you not taking the opportunity to upgrade to dual circuit brakes? Just done it on mine and quite simple, keep the existing pipe runs (although I have changed all my pipes too) but the safety of 2 circuits so if you get a leak you don't lose all 4 brakes only 2.

Schofields are doing a kit for £105:-

Good man! If only you lived a little closer I'd give you a hand, although with the quality of your work you probably wouldn't let me near anything!

Lower rear by 1 spline?

I have lowered the rear by 1 spline. The spring was originally sat on the stop (with no real pressure on it) Is this about right to go down about an 1" 1 1/2" ?

Thanks
