Noah my new 65 Canterbury Pitt project

Hi Steve
It took exactly 7 l ltr cans to do the underside, costing circa forty quid.
Smell is minimal, and it is over paintable according to the Man in the shop. I'm not painting of it though so I can't test this
Drying time seems to be slow though, I have been out tonight working and it's not completely hardened and I painted it about 11 am today.
Finally I recommend head and shoulders to get it out of your hair....wear a hat, or better still a balaclava!

Good work!
Not sure if saw my post a while back, just wondering how much height clearance you need minimum with that type of rotisserie? Wondering if it will work in my garage. Thanks

Hi jim
My garage is 7 ft 9 in tall but you could, probably get away with about 7ft 5 In at a squeeze, it's surprising how tight a space it turns in as its spinning on its centre.
Have four men around when you spin it for the first time though!
Ill probably be using mine or about another couple of months then I'm finished with it so ill be selling it half price plus postage if you do decide to go down that route.
Tbh I don't think it's really possible to seam seal and stonechip lying on your back.
I'm now putting all the brake servo and lines on etc and its absolute bliss to do it with the bus on its side!

Bah, measured the garage this morning, only 6'9" under the roof supports. I rolled the single cab in there but the cab roof may have fitted between the roof supports...

Evening all
My other half has been most generous in her garage allowance time the last two weeks, maybe she sees a remote possibility now that Noah might actually take to the road ones day.
So with the underside stone chipped I've been downg brakes and stuff, including vw jim servo fitment.
Ill let the pictures do the talking.
Steering box and buttys bits throttle linkage kit
New duel circuit master cylinder conversion
Vw jim servo, tricky to get the brake lines in the top,of it, watch you don't cross threadnthem!
It's a bit spaghetti junction with the pipes but they are all fixed and don't touch each other. Grommets used wherever they pass through metal
The heater tubes are in with a lot of swearing and head scratching. It seems to be too short so I had to make up some inner sleeves to join it to the ynpiece and at the front then tiger sealed the joint which both bonded and sealed it. I then bought some foil faced insulation to insulate the pipes....
Finally I rubbed down, primered and enamelled the front beam. Still, got the spindles to do but ill do them when it's off the floor mounted to the van
So now I'm ready to turn Noah back up the right way and put the beam and gearbox on. S ill be selling the jig on. Scjim has first refusal on it if his garage is tall enough.
Bye for now.

Jon looking good there. If the jig isn't needed by Jim please let me have second dibs. I'll be taking the front beam and engine out shortly so would be the ideal time to spin her over as I've gotta seam seal, protect and do dual brakes etc. Cheers.

You're getting on well now Jon. Way ahead of me now. When's paint time?

Not sure about paint yer..still got little bits of welding, cargo door bottom to repair and other stuff..
Might try and get the engine bay and interior painted first so I can crack on until the paint man finishes the main body prep.
I'm certainly not as meticulous as you Steve, so don't read into my apparent lurch forward in progress!

I've found that as you get nearer paint, you start getting even fussier on little bits as you know there're no going back once painted. I've looked over mine this weekend and I'm going to do some more work on the front panel and headlamp bowls as I'm not 100 percent happy..
...then no doubt ill find more bits.
Plus I've drilled the accelerator pedal rod hole too big for the rubber gaitor like a complete arse so I've got to weld that up and re drill.....
