Got them from Schofield's, not opened them yet so can't tell you if they are any good, I'll have a look tomorrow. Took about 2 week to arrive

Got most of the sealing done will finish tomorrow, Gravitex arrived today so will paint bottom on Saturday. Belly pans also arrived so got these to sort

I'm keen to know all about the Gravitex. Is it difficult to apply? Is it horrible to use? Does it really smell (cos my cave is integral to my house)? How many tins required? Are you keying the primer?

Please post lots of pictures

Steve

I opened a bottle to check out the colour and the smell is really strong, I'm a bit concerned about my neighbours complaining, I've already keyed all the primer. What I thought would take a hour, took me about 10 x that last weekend including cleaning it all down after, hopefully have some pics and more info at the weekend

Here's some pics of the underside, got the gravitex on today and very pleased with how it looks. Went on really well once I got the hang of it and didn't take too long either.

How was the smell? It looks like your cave is joined to your utility or kitchen just like mine is.

How big is the schlutz gun? Is it easy enough to get to all the nooks and crannies?

How many tins??

C'mon, more info req'd

BTW it looks very good

Hi Steve

I bought 7 bottles, but used 6 and half, it's surprisingly easy to get into all the area's even with a water trap attached, I had the pressure set at 4.5 bar at the compressor with a 10 meter hose. I'll post a pic of the gun, I did a fine coat to start with using short bursts, but once I got the hang of it you can just keep going as long as your compressor will keep up and as long as you keep the gun moving.

I think the higher you have the pressure the smoother the finish, it says a max of 5 bar, It doesn't really run either. The smell is really bad, my garage is detached it's just got a kitchen/toilet on the back!! But my wife said she could still smell it in the house with the doors and windows closed, I even had the garage door shut, I'd pull the bus outside if your attached. It covers everything really we'll too, I was a bit disappointed will my seam sealing as I didn't think it was neat enough, but the gravitex just covers everything with a couple of coats and looks really neat

HTH

Rick

how did you find the sealer ? easy to brush and work with ?

that looks spot on .... and the searing is perfect ......I think sealing is an art of its own and you pulled it off well mate ..... the gravatex has worked sweet and you'll have a well protected bus now and with all that lovely seam sealing there will be no little holes / water taps ...

well done buddy it looks sweet

i used gravetex on my trailer and it was smelly but once its all dried the smell goes away

So whats next Rick ??

Hi Mark

The seam sealer goes on really well and brushes in nicely, thanks for sorting me out with it, my concern was a 5 mm seal turned quickly into a 30 mm seal once I'd applied it and brushed it in and it looked a bit messy. That's why I asked you if I should mask it up, but once painted it looked spot on and blended everything in well.

If I can get help with turning the bus back over today, I'm going to fit my safari's!!

Cheers for your help

Got the bus turned back over, so after dinner I had a bash at fitting the safaris. Straight forward enough and only took me a couple of hours. I know you need good compression on the gaskets, but for me the handles are way too tight when trying to close, apart from that there spot on.
