That looks about right to me. Your memorabilia is interesting. Looks like the mag/paper is close to 35 years old.

Ok. Thought id give you an update as i made a big decision recently.
I decided that trying to find the airleak on the engine is too much of a pina on your own.
I know that squirting some wd40 over the leak whilst the engine is running will make the engine run faster and therefor let you know where the leak is.
The problem is the engine doesnt run and i need to be in the cab with my foot to the floor to keep the engine just about ticking over.
Ive tried wedging a piece of wood under the dash with some success but still not found the leak.
So with summer around the corner and the bsttery tray still needing to be welded in, and just havibg bought a housr and moved and everything taking way longer yhan expected i have decided that Laura is off to Jeff'sVW Shack to have the last few jobs done.
She will be in on the 20th and you never know, i might make it to the AGM with Laura!
More updates soon.

ok today was a big day for me and Laura as today I hand her over to somebody else to work on AND pay for it !
OMG
I've read so many threads and there's talk of buying parts and services and the cost makes my heart stop. I do know I was one of the lucky ones and was in the right place at the right time and it was before the whole splittie thing went from being kind of cool to just plain crazy expensive.
I totally admire all you guys out there that are doing all the work yourselves and I woukd really really like to say , at this point, a MASSIVE thankyou to SSVC. All the people behind the scenes that make the webiste work and loads of other internet technology stuff that I'll never understand. Without you I wouldn't have been able to communicate with other knowledgeable people who have given me so many pointers over the last few years that has enabled me to get to Laura to where she is now.
Thanks you SSVC so so very much.
Lately I did this _ pics do the talking
So this seat was being thrown out a while back and was in OK condition, I was saving the hinges. my drivers seat din't look to comfrtable so I decided to use the cushion. It wasn't in the best state but after I removed the lining it was quite a bit better. It's not a permenant solution. but will do for now.
After fitting the front seat belts - Easy as there/s only two
I got stuck into thw 2/3rds passenger seat. Lots of head scratching but I think this is how it's meant to be ....
more to follow soon

its been awhile since Laura left on the trailer to go to Jeffs VW Shack.
Shes had a new battery try fitted but the engine is prooving troublesome.
She has had her suspention adjusted 1 spline as she the spring plates were failing and hitting.
The engine is out And being worked on but in tge mean time a 1200 has been put in and she is off for an MOT today.
Lets see what happens.....

I have found out today that Laura's recon engine is kaput.
I've been to see Jeff today and we have discussed the options.
For me there is no option other than getting the engine that MarkP gave me and try to get that up and running and then have a look at the recon engine that has gone bang.
Jeff has had a measure up of the components and we are going to fit a reground crank. i am going to go to Jeffs VW shack and get some bits clean and see and strip some of the engine in the van down.
REALLY could of done without this !
Thats all for now.

thanks Graham.
chin is up , it's just that the pockets are beyond empty.
Laura will defo be on the road soon tho as there a way out of this mess.
you may remember some time ago after my OG engine was stolen MarkP kindly gave me his engine from Gerry.
I took it to pieces and has sat in a box waiting for me to find time to rebuild it.
this has been delivered to Jeff's VW shack where I spent some of Friday cleaning the case and stripping my (now broken) engine of the parts that will be needed to make a good one.
Re ground crank
different exhaust
1600 pistons and rings
etc etc
I'll put the list up as and when but thats all I can remember right now.
I popped into see Jeff on the way home tonight and was pleased to see it was pretty much put back together. So it shouldn't be too long until I can collect Laura and drive away.

Sorry to hear of your engine woes.
It seems that there's many a backward step before reaching the holy grail in the bus resto game. A bit like snakes and ladders
Keep going, you'll get there
