On a different note, in this pic can anyone tell me about the holes either side of the speedo on the dash, and which ones need welding up. The bus is a march 63, but the dash is a donor

Cheers

 Safaris look good

What sort did you go for? Creative? Butty's seals?

I'm hoping to do the same. Do you have the rebates for the hinges on your bus?

I went for the creative kit including seals, minus the glass as I'm sorting that myself. The bus as already got the rebates for the hinges but to be honest it's the first time I've ever noticed them today!! Pretty easy to fit as well,

Rick, the small one on the left of the speedo pod needs to go and the third one on the right.
You should have three of the small holes for wipers, lights and hazards.
If you need to call I'll be about all next wk.

If you think you might like one now, you'll definitely want it in a year's time after you've finished. I'm going to fit one as I think it will be useful whilst camping in hot weather.

Fit it. You'll only regret it if you don't

Just imho of course

Over the last few week I've started thinking about engines, and the fact that I haven't got one!!. A few people put me onto a guy called Daz Chandler, so I gave him a call last week. He recommended a 1955cc to go with the AH code gearbox I already have, he said they would work well together? We discussed costs and he can also refurb the gearbox  , I've decided to call to see him over the next couple of week to drop the box off and get the engine ordered. I know nothing about them so hopefully he will learn me something

Caught up on this a couple of days ago and really enjoyed seeing your skills, it's going to be a lovely bus when it's done.

It seems to be very easy if you don't mind what it costs too much. The clever bit seems to be about getting what you need for a prie that you're comfortable with. It's a steep learning curve and I'm still very near the bottom

Cheers mate,

Still worried how it will turn out, as everyone knows a lot of money goes into these things and when doing it yourself all you can do is hope it's good enough. Paint shop haven't seen it since It was sand blasted!! So god only knows what they will think when I drop it off!
