Have you asked if anyone else on here has a bus supplied by European Cars at all?
You have evidence albeit inadmissible of
Owner 1
Owner 2
Owner ?
You!
VIN
Tax disc which even says Commercial.. that proves that the registration was a VW commercial... it says so on the tax disc. The tax disc was actually recovered from behind the dash/ kick panel base by Inspector Clouseau himself.
He will attest the plate has been on the 1960 original engine lid since first fitted.

I have been working with Rod Sleigh of the Volkwagen Owners Club & Historic Volkswagen Club and he has approved and endorsed all the paperwork I have to no avail!Who.Me? wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 1:40 pm
I saw from earlier posts that you know about the V765 referenced in this link... http://www.fbhvc.co.uk/legislation-and- ... -and-dvsa/ ...but maybe they can help?
Point 8 on that page suggests that you might have enough evidence. Maybe the need the help of an organisation that carries more weight with the DVLA than SSVC does is what you need? (And that's no disrespect to SSVC, but point 7 on that page suggests that FBHVC were involved in getting the V765 scheme up and running.)

Okay, as the cat is out of the bag the reason I have been searching for information on European Cars (Reading) Limited is that under the paintwork on the dropsides and rear arches Dave found some lettering. My appeal thread is here
https://archives.ssvc.org.uk/viewtopic ... 2&t=123036
It clearly says European Cars (Reading) on the passenger drop side, we have tried to flat back to it but Dave thinks it was removed before it was repainted, it also has clear lettering on the arch, although I've not worked out what it says yet.
So what have I found out? EC were only in Reading from 1966-69, however the SC was registered in Middlesex (HX reg range used in February 1960) so was it their parts truck/demonstrator and they moved it to Reading? or was it someone's SC that they bought from EC in Middlesex and then part exchanged against something else?
If anyone knows anything about EC please let me know. I have contacted a number of businesses in Reading, London and Middlesex at the addresses given in the adverts and the surroundings, I have also contacted historical societies, Facebook groups and the local authorities but not gathered a great deal of info.
So get your spy glasses out and help me! Would love to get the SC in a photograph and then be able to recreate the sign writing!

So it’s time to bring it home, not rolling on the correct wheels, but rolling.
Lots still to sort, but it’s coming home, it’s coming home, it’s coming, SC’s coming home.
Thanks Matt and Dave you’ve done an outstanding job, exactly how I wanted it to look, pretty much the same as when I dropped it off
Thanks Steve too, blended to perfection!

The same day the SC came home the Brasilia left, sad to see it go but me and Nige had a bit if fun out if it and a cracking trip to Ninove in 2018, hoping to catch up with it in Belgium this year as the new owner has plans to take it over.
Loved the look of that car, but I’ve got 3 weeks to finish the SC before this year’s Ninove so I best get a move on!
