Yes, that's a hell of a gap between posts. I've been sitting here pressing 'refresh' for 3 years...

So it's been a little while since an update
Sometimes life gets in the way a little. Not to mention a certain 51 samba. Including, find, rescue, recovery, showing at Ben Pon and unfortunately passing it on
But hay! I promised I would finish the 52. And I WILL. So we must press on.
Although there has been a little sabbatical. It had been ticking along slowly. So when I went and collected it at the end of March it looked like this...
I was hoping now it had some structure I could stitch up the gaps. Simple
But to cut a long story short - it was wonkier then a whale at Sea World.
It was clear it really needed a full body jig. Time to give up and throw in the towel? Hell no!
So when I heard Jeff at JCwelding had an opening... One of the best restorers around, proven with rusty barndoors. All the jigs and not to mention another 52 samba to datum off. It had to happen.
So the legendary single axle trailer came out once again.
Jeff was willing but decided the best way to proceed was to take the whole bus apart and repair each panel before putting it all back together.
So like a good car wash, it was decided to start at top and work downward. So first up - the roof.
It was, well..... bad!!

It's DEFINITELY going to Ben Pon. The aim is that it won't be on a trailer.
