That's coming along great Jim.

So satisfying painting a bus yourself, even if not to bodyshop standards. Just think of all the admiring glances you'll get and general amazement from Joe Public that a 50 year old bus can look that good. Inside you'll be thinking "and I did it all myself :D "

Thanks Nige,

It certainly is satisfying even if I am making it up as I go along. Hopefully do me for a few years.

Just desperate to be back on the road again.

Hi, does anyone have any photos of Deluxe seats for a Turkis Bus?

I was thinking of getting some TMI covers, has anyone bought a set?

Many thanks

HELP!!!!!!!

Hi all, I'm still having problems firing up Dave. I have checked the wires. I have also changed the plugs, points, condenser, leads, cap and rotor arm. Getting good spark and seemed to be getting fuel as the plugs are wet. Chuggs a little then there is a massive backfire? Have I missed checking something. Could the Choke be stuck on or the jets blocked?

Really appreciate it.

No, the set up was fine when I removed the engine. Could I have altered this changing things?

Thanks

Jim

Take a look here and follow the steps, if you have spark & fuel it has to be timing, as BDP said have you had the dizzy out?

http://www.vw-resource.com/car_wont_start.html#rotates

Double check the leads etc.

Thanks both for the replies,

I have loosened the dizzy, marked it and spun it around to change the coil, put it back and changed the points, I'll (get Googling now) and check the timing tomorrow. Have set the plugs at 26 & the points at 16?

Thanks

Jim

Hopefully you are at 0.025" and 0.016" or 0.60mm-0.7mm & 0.40mm

http://www.bustopia.com/vw-bug-bus-tune ... -info.html

Did you pull the leads at all? Double check firing order, set No1 at TDC etc etc.

If you're still having trouble in February I will be passing your way!
