Damn Mark, you make everything look so effortless and it's all top quality workmanship 8O

Bolting up all those pristine goodies in your conservatory is going to be a joy I bet.

Are you planning to trim your interior panels yourself too? Are you going two-tone with them?

Black and grey vinyl with red piping to separate would look good with your colour scheme.

Hi all

 Thanks for all your amazing comments guys ........

Mattd
Just like you I really enjoyed trimming the door as its makes a change to do something that says I'M FINISH on the area

Jason
You'll be happy to know I just popped the rubbers on for the photos just to show how its looks ........ I will trim the rubber as needed  thanks for the heads up 8)

Nigel
Yep I'm hoping to trim all the inside myself ...... Well with the help of my Claire on the sewing machine  ..... We intend to do it all ..... Door cards .....seats ..... Cushion ......everything ..... And if they are not great then I can always do it again in the future or pass it to a pro ...... But you know how it is guys these buses are not cheep to restore so I have to cut back on spending out on things I can make or have a go at doing it myself as I need to spend money on new parts and I only want to buy stuff once so going for good quality parts is a must ! And every time I order something it's hurts :sad1:

Mike
As normal I'll photo all steps of that I do on the headlining and all the inner trimming stuff ...... Again it may not be the correct way to do it but its the way I'm doing / making it ...... Markp styley ....... So if the pics help I really please as that's what this thread is all about .... How a non pro goes about restoring an unloved splity in his man cave on his own ...... I've only called on help from friend a few times ...... Once to fit the long side panel .... ( cheers moody ) and the second time was to roll Gerry over and that was some lads from work with big arms :?

So again guys cheers for comments they all keep me going and pushing to get this fella finished

I've only read up to page 65 so far but Mark you are a LEGEND. I cannot believe how far you have come and how awesome Gerry looks. If it wasn't for your thorough photography and diary of your progress, it would be hard to believe that it is the same van. So cool! Looking forward to reading the rest tomorrow!

Mark - if you're doing the headlining, I'd like to assist / help / learn.

I fancy having a go at mine. Like you say, costs can sprial out of control on these things and trimming is an area where it becomes very expensive. So, before throwing £800 at BAT to do my headliner, I'd like to see if it is possible to do it yourself.

I'm not far from you, so it would be a good experience if you are up for it. If it goes well, perhaps we can tackle mine together?

Dude! We're only doing the reading - no kudos needed here! You completely rock. I've read the rest of the thread today (using it as a reward, I'm on half term, and have a load of work to do, so for every set of assessments done, or stack of books marked, I've allowed myself to read a bit more!) I am so in awe of how much you have achieved, and it has made me want to ensure that when we have to do any work on Ruby that we use your high standards and thorough attention to detail as a guide!

Also, the wedding is all sorted - just have to turn up at the right place on the day (sadly haven't been able to score a splitty for the wedding transport in Northern Cyprus though :( )

Really hoping to meet you and Gerry at a festival this year! :alien:
