Are you using the shorter torsion bar now that you've narrowed the tube?
Hi Karl, the bars are cut down stock units.
Cheers, Jim

No not cut and shut per say you just need to trim some material from the ends.

Done some more on the calipers this evening. Blasted the rears, cleaned and flushed them all through.
Got the fronts reassembled, and all in primer. Hopefully that will go off tonight. Colour tomorrow. Got new decals in black then clear over the top.
Still waiting on the spindles to come back from machining, then I can carry on with the front end.

Hi bud, yes that's it, ply floor and loads of rust!
Any photos and history you have would be great, I contacted a guy on RetroRides who has also owned it at some point.
Anything you can send me would be appreciated.
Cheers, Jim

Evening guys, had a day off yesterday so hit into a few jobs.
The caliper rebuild continues, colour on very nice shade of yellow!
Cleaned up the pads, plates, springs and pistons in readiness for rebuilding.
Gave the 944 3 port M/C a good clean and a refresh.
Made a start on the motor strip down. Hung it on the stand and pulled the heads, pistons barrels.
It was freshly built in 2007 and never run so still very clean.
Ordered a case splitter as I can't budge the sealer I used on it!
Tonight I made a start on the link pipes for the calipers.
More as It comes!

Saturday evening update,
Finished my brake pipes off this morning whilst waiting for another coat of paint to dry on the calipers. Got them at home in the warm now so I can put the decals on tomorrow, then coat with lacquer.
Then continued with the engine strip. Split the case, got the crank on the bench and stripped.
Removed the studs, and cleaned the case up.
New bearings and 92mm forged pistons and barrels ready for the build up.
Now have all the parts together I can build it check the deck height then send it all off for balancing, fun and games.
Got a Sunday pass so more tomorrow!

Busy day today, pulled the transmission back out of the bus. When it was in my bug it crunched into 2nd so pulled it appart. I'm also upgrading to a super diff so got that built up.
Case is going to work tomorrow for cleaning in the hot wash.
Shafts are out and the pinion shaft is stripped down. Got to order syncro rings this week!
Made a start on the Diff got the main housing built, didn't have my hot air gun at the unit so will take that over and get the crown wheel installed.
Then when I got home I got th decals on the calipers, ready for lacquer!
More this week!
