Up early on Saturday to sort a few final bits, although not required for the mot.
Drilled out the old rivets and broken hub cap clips and peened new ones in. Think I’m mot ready. I’ve got 2 barn find hub caps, still need to sort 2 more.

Sorted the other hub caps today, fitted some rubber matting to the treasure chest & bed.
As found in the barn As created by me! Rubber matting to protect it from the abuse it is going to get! Think it’s pretty much sorted now.
Semaphore! Test drive ready for next week.

Going to borrow my rev counter out of my bus and see, really difficult to hear the engine in the SC, loads quieter than the bus.
Yes 1600TP with twin ICTs, have looked online and found a couple of posts that say small nut RGB should be 51mph at 3,000 revs and 68 mph at 4,000 revs, hopefully something like that? https://archives.ssvc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=96293
Took it for a spin along the motorway on Saturday got up to 60 but have no idea on revs, will sort for Friday!

Well Ninove came and went without any real issues, a couple of electrical gremlins, rear nearside taillight and nearside headlight were a little intermittent, so must be an earth issue, apart from that 675 miles trouble free
So what else did I do before I set off on the 15th?
Monday & Tuesday evenings were spent prepping and installing the load bed slats. Treated with teak oil, then carefully lining them up.
Before drilling 56 holes and countersinking them, then 56 holes in the load bed.

Wednesday 13th was spent losing money on horses at Cheltenham, however I managed to get a few hours at it on the Thursday afternoon/evening installing the additional loom, relay and switch for the heated screens, a real boon on a cold Saturday morning in Folkestone, a couple of minutes and the screen was clear. No pictures unfortunately.......
Friday soon rolled around and a few final checks, put my tools and spares box into the load bed, trolley jack, axle stands, etc etc and we were set fair to go. Pete and Amy had come over from Northern Ireland to meet up and cruise to Ninove with us in their beautiful Beetle.

On the way down to Folkestone Friday afternoon I called in on Dave & Matt to show them the finished SC, think they were pleased to see it out of their workshop
Anyway on then to Warwick Services to meet up with the rest of our gang.
