Yes... I was quite surprised that I looked at my original flooring board which is very simple 3 ply and have used this as a "template to line things up. I did put an acoustic insulator layer under the board which is a simple closed cell foam with a silver reflective water proof layer. This 4 mm ply board is rivetted down on a 9" grid which with weight above it maybe gives a degree of compression and sn 1.5mm depth increase.
Others have measured their floor board at 5cm. ...But. .

Madmatz recommend 9 mm. They sell an edge strip to suit that. I reused the division alloy strip just like Devon.
The run from front to back of bus works out to complete tiles....
So looks good.
I have tiled solid floors many many years ago with the larger 12" tiles back in the 80.s... But I do prefer the look of the charcoal n ice in 9"..
Fitted really well and hopefully will last another 50 years. .

The fabricator who made this one for me makes custom race car chassis. body panels and makes water tanks and petrol tanks for special applications...Motor bikes, boats, race cars..and motor homes...
I am sure he will make another...He copied exactly the dimensions of an OG Devon tank but at my request inset the filler pipe and made a variation to the bolt on lid copying the 1967 style.

I will enquire and if anyone is interested I will then PM with the price..
Need to be sitting down.

I had only one of the bracket legs which come out from the division and both of the hinged brackets.
When we examined the hinged brackets it turns out that these had been extended with an extra piece rivetted on.
Dave made a copy of the fixed bracket and he is now painting the brackets.
I will take a picture of the tank installed next week end.
I chose to make the tank from stainless so It should not corrode and will be water tight!

Well... I have been a "naugty boy".... with the nature of my work... The end of a Financial Year and start of the next Financial Year is very very very busy and so pressure of work and pressure to get Peebles finished has meant that the harder i worked the harder I had to play! LOL

So I have not posted much...markP will be round with the resto Police...

The deadline was always to get Peebles ready for my youngest son's wedding..which is imminent...next week...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek
So I will be doing my ususl posting words and then filling in the pictures stuff.

Peebles is MOT'd - straight pass...
Taxed on line straight from the SORN/V5C code - easy for once
Insured with RH - with six named drivers...and breakdown recovery....

I fitted the escutcheons from quickfitsbs around the rear seat belts webbing where it comes through the wood of the seat frame.
I had bought a pair of inertia reel belts with aircraft buckles for the front with a lap belt for the middle....
For the rear I had fitted aircraftbuckled inertia reels with the webs coming through the wood of the seat frame...
With help from Pavel and pictures from a kind poster on the forum I bought some nice stainless surrounds to tidy up the holes..
Because the rear seat has the cooker next to it I had to make a flying spur bracket coming up from the floor to allow the mount for the web to be strong and secure and sit under the seat frame next to the cooker.
I odered seat belt which also have modern connectors just at seat belt level so the belts can be unclipped when making the bed and the loose ends put below cushion height.

I will post pictures..

I only had one upper water tank bracket so Dave copied that one and made me another and painted them.

I fitted the stainless steel water tank to the division floor with some very nice butterfly wing nutted stainless botls (copies of the missing Devon ones)

Of course to the uninitiated it looks finished but there are still things to do to finish it completely...the original tank fitted had the front board butchered so I have to make another and I have been looking for some rough cheap dark ply...all the material I can find is pale! Do these things ever get finished...?

I fitted all the restored Devon interior furniture....using exact copies of the original rusty screws. They are all findable in Stainless.
I have kept all the original screws and will post a very sad thread of what screw goes where!
I unwrapped all the lovely cushions which Joanne (dollydaydream) had lovingly made for me
Thanks J&S Trimshak....
I had the cushion seat covers made in duracouresque Ross Stria Jade material which matches the Velvet Green lower colour.

I hung the curtains which my DIL had made.
She was very disappointe with them.
Original Devon curtains were made with curtain tape with very small loops at the top of the tape. The curtain tape fitted right at the top of thecurtain so that the curtain sits level with rail and sits under the start of the curve of roof.
She bought some lovely material New Patch Olive Butter http://www.vwcampercurtains.co.uk/check.htm and made the curtains beautifully...and a cutlery holder.
She used swish curtain tape and swish curtian hooks and was disappointed rhat they hung away and beleow the rail...
But the lesson is you jave to use silent gliss curtain hooks..these work excellently..

I have fitted the front seats covered for me by Bromsgrove Trimmers.

One of the most stressful things was to take my original VW front Mat and cut it to fit around and under my WASU change speed lever lock...but this worked well!

But I did not take many photographs of the stages because they are all minor details..

I will yake pictures of them and post in the thread..

When I looked at the detailing. the list of things I still needed to do..came to two pages!

So a taster.....

Ross Portobello Stria Jade cushions and the Family matching Welsh Blanket with colours to tie in to the curtains....LOL and my handbag

Image

Original hardboard over the engine board which was in five pieces and fragile... reconstructed with plastic wood glue and humbrol paint and fixed with ten screws and cups..
I even remembered to shorten two screws so they did not pierce the wiring as it goes to the rear light..
I cheated and I fitted the US only rubber boot inside for the rear number plate light.. i am going to see how the lights look but may fit an LED number plate light
Image

I did order some new rear bulb holders with loveley chrome but they are copies of the Bay rear light unit and are deeper so the one on the driver side did not fit with the enormous leisure battery I have fitted. So I had the old one tha my son restored.
I looked at the MOT and the one was brighter than the other so I have reverted to the OG painted units and have LED indicator bulbs and Red stop nand tail bulbs on order..

So pleasing to drive this bus...
Finaly home (but not entirely finished)
Details details details..
Devon had some proprietry rubber stops nailed to the cupboards to stop the cupboards from rattling..
These perish and drop off.
Have not found an identical item to fit...BUT will fabricate some..

LOL
LOL

Lots to do..
Hang the coat hangers and clean 100% in all the nooks and crannies..
But most importantly...get it run in
Adjust the brakes
Clean and set the carbs on the rolling road etc.etc..

OH and use it!
