Thanks Mark, very pleased with the fabrics and colours.
Tomorrows job is a change of distributor. Terrible flat spot below 2000rpm with the 009, which new dizzy will hopefully cure (so I am told by quite a few ppl).

Not really an update but just a quick thank you to a couple of people who helped me out with my engine woes prior to Vicky Farm/Stanford Hall:
1. Stefan Rossi of Aircooled Engineering ( http://ace-vw.com/site/) in Tyseley, Birmingham for coming to my house and methodically & systematically troubleshooting my problems until 9pm, knowing I was hoping to get to Vicky Farm the next day
2. Richard (8 BUS) for driving over to my house the following morning (50 mile or so round trip - top bloke) and bringing me his spare 34pict3 carb (my un-tuneable repro will be binned!)
The bus is now running better than ever!
Thanks again guys.

Great work Nige,
With the kingspan, is it stuck in directly to the metal, are you using this for thermal insulation or sound deadening, as kingspan isn't cheap ?
Cheers
Tony

Hi Tony,
I used flashing tape for sound insulation (popular and cheap alternative to proprietary sound deadening) then wedged the kingspan into the gaps for thermal insulation. I used a strong tape to hold it in place but it's not bonded to the metal in any way no.
The kingspan board I used was 25/30mm thick from memory and about £20 per sheet (6' X 3') from B&Q.
