Battery tray got attention today
[/URL
Damaged N/S wheel arch had to be trimmed [/URL
Long side got more drilling, sill hanging on till the bitter end, is it the law that you must must miss at least one spot weld
And the long side finally let go, just needs tidying, new inner sill fabbing then the new panel can be offered up!!

All quiet in the workshop today, no Mig wirring no tig buzzing a man at peace with his gas welding,, but this is always followed by the thrashing of panel beating hammers on metal!!!
Bye Bye nasty retro fitted indicators
Old stock long panel down to bare metal
Then painted
Offered up, good fit
Quite like the rusty finish

stock as things go at the moment, was going to build a 1600 single port that looks sort of vintage, I have a 1200 to go with it as well though!

In the words of Stalin "sometimes to create you must destry!"
Due to drilling the spot welds I took out er ribs so they can be repaired on the bench
Was easier to fab the top rib as it was quicker than welding the old un
N/S floor needed patching, in view of the pitting as well decided to replace the half
Sardine tin method
Sill Plasma'd out
Pillars needed bottom repairs fabricating so we decided it would be better to remove them and do it on the bench, gives good access to sill and floor as an added benefit

Back on the saddle after a bit of a break
Both sides done welding wise, back now looking good as well
Time to move to the front, I have been looking foreword to this, front cleared out and floor removed
Hinge screws seized so drilled and re-tapped
[/URL
No pattern to the spot welds holding the cab floor in, 12 one side 21 the other!

Began filling the void at the front today, I had a prototype panel, the floor under the tool chest fromSchofields. Turned out that it was very much in the prototype stage and as the panel is not available anywhere else had to make a it from scratch. A big thank you to the bloke from Wolverhampton who let me have a good look around his 57 panel at the Diva Show at the weekend, though I nearly snapped his wiper arm with me hat peak!!!!!
He did say that he does get on this forum from time to time.
Panel marked out
Swaged and cut out
Fitted with new tool chest
From below
front looking a bit fuller!
Cab floor and dog legs on Wednesday!!

Living on drink alone,
Floor in today but no dog legs as the detail around the gear and handbrake leavers were difficult! A bit of fettling of the 59> floor needs a bit of modding

To be fair mate due to the chemical dip and E-coat it is a lot easier as there is no rust to deal with so it takes a lot less time.

Do you think they will notice???
Wheels needed to get her mobile now the underside is somewhere near
That difficult detail sorted
The early floors gear and brake leavers are much further back than the later floors, as you can see the pressings in the floor lean the levers away from each othe
Work can start on the dog legs
Door gap took loads of jiggery poker!!!
