So while the lub soaks in been taking out lights and off with the bumper. Strange damage on the valance, guessing it was the hook used when pulling it from the barn, looks like new damage. No rust in the light pots.

So getting to grips with the angle grinder today. Planning to get this out and all the steering braking stuff out of the way.
Can sow one tell me how to get the hinge pins out please? Tried wd40 and heat but won't budge. Thanks

So a proper day in the cave today.
Stopping out the dash stuff, wipers, speedo, switches etc. All bagged and labelled. Couple of questions, how do you get the file gauge, light switch and the little switch under the speedo housing. Can't seem to work it out.
Also nearly completed cutting out the cab floor, just a few spot welds to drill out.
And then moved onto the cargo floor. Very enjoyable, a lot to see after your work.
I beams, chassis, tubes all solid!
Can someone help with how to disengage the cab door brace (not sure of proper name), the thing that holds it open. And I'm struggling with the screws to get the cargo door hinges off. Thanks in advance.

Fuel gauge has a central threaded rod which goes through a hole in the centre of a U shaped bridge clamp.
If you feel round the back you will feel a knurled nut which you undo clockwise looking from the front and remove and the gauge pulls forwards off the surface of the dash.
The light switch is held....by a nut on the face of the dash too..
The interior light switch on the LHS of the speedo pod has a knurled nut on the outside of the switch which you turn off anti clockwise..
Cab door checker has a pin and circlips to disengage...

Dash now empty! Tks. So back to the cutting. Aiming to get the cargo floor out completely next.
Took off the heat shroud last night, all good inside.
So going to be ordering sills and bits tonight, should arrive in time for Christmas!
Steering box going to be gone by the weekend.
Another question. I have been deliberating for awhile on this. I do plan to fit a new wiring loom, the whole lot. Should I just strip it all out or there are bits to leave in? It will be blasted and epoxy primed so I want to get as much out of the way. Tks again.

dragged my full loom out, but remember to leave a guide line through the chassis sections to make new install a bit easier

....My Peebles from date of purchase was always going to be wedding car for my youngest son...
Thank goodness he took six years of cohabiting before he popped the question...
LOL..
Deadline achieved...My eldest son and I took him to the church...
So he could not escape...
Eldest son in chauffer mode
But he went willingly...
Lol
