Now I can see ....not on my phone..

Oblong headlamp bowls..
No door checkers on A posts
No holes for the VW badge on the front clip???

Was a kombi...
All grey cab door cardsoor
Black steering wheel
Black CSP
Black handbrake - would have been black knobs on switches
Engine hatch on bench seat
Bench seat back would have zig zig wire springs top to bottom and then VW introduced a hump in the seat back to divide the driver third from the passenger third. So on LED the driver springs would be nearer to LHS.
What confused me was seeing the coiled springs visible on the LHS of the seat - something strange.
Grey cab roof cards...

Will be nice...

Ok, so is the general order of play

Get body work sorted, by the way I need two good side doors, if anyone knows of any. I do have two doors, but they are in need of new skins, so again any recommendations for repair wold be great.

Get pop top repaired.

Get paintwork done

Get engine and other mechanical work done

You will have to excuse my ignorance. I am hoping to catch up with my mate, who sold the van this coming week, to see if he may have a mplate kicking around with other bits and bobs. Should anyone have any recommendations for any of the work needed, please let me know. Thanks everyone for help so far

Cargo doors can be repaired and reskinned
usually replace bottom inner panel and then reskin either from a point or better from swage line to bottom
Mine were OK at the top, had been repaired before to a fashion and gone at the bottom. See Peebles and Sherry threads.
Autocraft sell the correct panels for each of the years.

???
Total transparency buddy, that's why the Resto Haus advert is there, so people know what I do for a living. Jasper asked for recommendations for people to help, so apart from loving his bus, if i could help him in anyway, if he didn't live 300 miles away, then I'm happy to help & of course, even if we are too far away, advise costs nothing, so happy like you, to help that way to. We're based in North Devon, we currently have a '59 vert from the midlands, a '66 11 window from Reading, so sensible distance isn't to much of a problem either :)

LOL..
I am keen for him to find his m - plate so he has some knowledge of when and where and what..
Quietly I am hoping my questions lead to some clues about whether it was a camper and then to seek info on what type.
Bobley for example set his heart on a Devon Interior but part way through discovered it had been a CP..

Only jesting..
I did read your rescue thread on the box van and that it sat in your "queue"....
Love the things you have done...
All in good humour..
