Fuel tank looked bad but after a lot of sanding and wire wheeling it came up well. I pumped it with air and it held pressure plus the inside looked clean.

Then the only bit I didn't do myself, media blast the underside. Here you can see all the epoxy I painted before the panels were welded.

More white epoxy, Some bits I didn't photograph that were replaced in here are the U shape rubber retainers and the O/S 'L' plate above the chassis rail. I still need to add a bit of weld to the heater cable tubes but I need to look at another one as i'm not 100% sure how far it bends.


Again a bit more pipe cutting needed but its looking good under here


Front now in epoxy and dash stripped

Roof day was not a good day the paint was a pig to remove and took a lot of evenings to get it all off. then it was out with the wire wheel to remove the rust in the gutters but I was pleased that the roof only needed a few patches making.


Then after feeling for dents I realised the whole roof will need panel beating everything from bikes to car parts were stored on the roof when I bought it and they all had left there mark. The only way I could face it was to do One patch of filler a night...


Until I got all the way around!

But then the metal work was finished

And so on to the prep and priming...

N/S bowl needed a bit of shaping but the new rear panel was filler free!



After I rubbed the epoxy down it was time for high build primer

and primer on the roof... Its 2 colours because I ran out of one tin and when I opened the new one it was green


Then a bit of guide coat ready to rub down.

So that brings you all up to date to where I am at the moment, I'm still at it every night and trying to be as disciplined as I can in going to the man cave but its not easy as I guess a lot of you know. I've missed a lot out on this thread about the tedious bits like all the small patches that needed doing and the constant on and off of the doors, getting the hand break working again after it was seized on, being unable to get the handbrake pin out for that matter, fighting with the steering wheel which wouldn't budge, knocking out the door pins, wrestling the nest of vipers that is the wiring loom, freeing up all the rusty bolts on the suspension and so on and so on but you have read all this before and luckily so have I thanks to you guys on here so nothing was a big surprise and I was able to deal with it after all the great build threads on this forum

I'll keep you posted as often as I can but at least I've taken the first step into posting my build thread.

Nice job. My knees feel for you. Doing mechanical stuff in a single garage is bad enough, let alone bodywork.

Hang on to that body frame until it's a driver. Working on the running gear on an immobile bus in a single garage is no fun. You end up in some strange angles. I've f*cked up both my knees working on mine.
