After getting a fresh MOT which really sorted the sloppy steering ,I stripped everything off Mr. Bo before delivering him to Karl at Beetlebank, now in Holsworthy, Devon for the work to really start.

I went over to see the progress on Mr. Bo Jangles yesterday & was really pleased, as obviously until all the paints off you don't really know what might be hidden underneath...........

The only place a little bit of tin worm won was about the size of a fag packette as if someone has stabbed it with a pencil 7 or 8 times.

Carl also sorted out quite a large dent in the roof by fixing & contouring a brace inside & slightly raising the cross members to take up the stretched metal.

I've been working on the interior, facing in birch ply, making sure to get the grain to run through openings and over the rear seat unit.

Went over to Beetlebank today with a van full of interior bits to trial fit & for Carl & Lee ( the upholsterer ) to see what we're working with & towards. Carl had also painted the interior after welding a few small area's of the cargo floor.

It's been a while since I last added any details as there wasn't much to report, obviously the preperation takes along time to get the panels as straight as possible, but Carl is finally getting towards the end of that stage. You'll see by the long panel most of the first coat of primer has been rubbed back & filler applied were necessary to get it level, then when he's happy ,he adds another coat of primer.

upto the door shuts
[/img] Image
When I got there yesterday Carl was working on the roof
[img]
& Harry has been bare metalling the dash, tray, cargo doors etc
[/img] Image
Image
Image
Image
They did find a bit of rot along the bottom of both cargo doors , though we knew they were a bit ruff so no real suprise
Image
Image
The engine lid was in the spray booth getting a coat of primer just to protect it at this stage
Image
& Lee the upholsterer brought over one of the seats to see if I was happy with the result so far :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Image
The project next to mine is a Oval window Bug complete with suicide doors, 2.2, rag top, one off Beetlebank split rim wheels & a colour that is simply AWESOME !
